A little late, but here it is ->
Well, what can I really say about December other than it was a shite month for riding the bike. Thanks to the pain in my knee progressively getting worse throughout October and November I opted to not ride at all in December to allow me to take part in the Middleton CC track championships on the 20th.
So, it was a case of just one little ride totalling approx 10 miles on the track.

November review
It has been a 'half' kinda month with my mileage and elevation somewhat halving what it was last month:
Distance covered: 105.98 miles
Elevation gained: 4552ft
Days ridden: 7
Night rides: 1
Middleton CC: yep - to Mossley
Cycling events: 0
Other events: 1 - coppicing.
As with October, I'm still not doing any hill reps. My monthly elevation total was averaging out quite nicely but has now halved (so have the miles ridden), so I guess it still is kinda average. As predicted, the inclement weather has now hit and I did have a lot less riding time due to either training staff or purely because the weather is crap.
I also had enforced leave off the bike due to knee problems. Hopefully I can get back on the bike for more rides this month.

October review
Again, it has been a fairly good month:
Distance covered: 210.35 miles
Elevation gained: 7428ft
Days ridden: 11 (some night rides in amongst that)
Middleton CC: yep - to Ramsbottom
Events: 0
Still not doing any hill reps as most of my longer rides now seem to incorporate hillier routes and I feel stronger on the climbs. My monthly elevation total is averaging out quite nicely now too.
Granted, due to the inclement weather that has now hit us very hard today, the next few months may well have a lot less riding in them. But, I will try to get out there and do what I can.

September review
Been a fairly good month:
Distance covered: 215.28
Days ridden: 9
Middleton CC: yep - to Tatton Park
Events: Manchester 100 in 4:14:07
Again I've not done any hill reps, but have exceeded most months on the climbing scale bar that of January. A few evening rides have been added to the 'rota' so that'll guarantee around 30 miles each week depending on the weather of course!

August review
Is it that time again? Well ok then -
Distance covered: 214.08 miles
Days ridden: 7
Middleton CC: yup to Rivington on 30/8
Joby's loop: sure did on 31/8
Chorlton Wanderers: nope as I was doing summat else but can't remember what!
Hill climb/reps: nope, but have done a hell of a lot of climbing regardless!
August was a funny month for me as I began voluntary work therefore reducing my hours on the bike, yet I maintained a good monthly mileage I think. The amount of climbing has leapt up the scale; nearly on par with that of January but in much less miles.
Although I'm still crap on the climbs I'm getting up them, albeit it extremely slowly, so something is still going right somewhere.
September has another event to ride and a club run, so that'll automatically bring the miles to 100, maybe 130 before I've even started on anything else.

July review
July, again was a good month for riding for me with getting a new PB in an event and getting some good miles in.
Distance covered: 209 miles
Days ridden: 9
Event: 1 - Manchester to Blackpool 4:13:27 PB
Middleton CC: 26/7 to Bleak Hey Nook
Chorlton Wanderers: no, as I was riding mcr-bpl
Hill climbs/repeats: not as a stand alone thing. A few rides have been very hilly to make up for it.
Although my mileage is down on last month I did get back into Trio's century challenge with the Manchester to Blackpool ride bringing 76.32 (route and to & from the start) miles into play. The 2 most notably hilly rides were both 30 miles long with 1063ft and 994ft of climbing respectively and only a few days apart.
Something, somehow has been going right since my accident. Despite the hill training kind of tailing off I still seem to be getting much better at it than I was at the start of the year. maybe it's something to do with the first stint back on the back was a hill rep; maybe I've mentally matured to the point where no damn hill is going to stop me getting where I want to be. Who knows? All I know is that I seem to be going in the right direction.
August is going to be an interesting month as I'll be using it to try and keep the longer rides up in preparation for the Manchester 100, plus some good rides with my club to Sowerby Bridge and Chorlton Wanderers to Great Budworth. Hopefully I'll be able to get in some good routes that I've found on mapmyride too. Oh, and maybe I'll get over to Staffs and try to ride cat and fiddle and axe edge, just to see if I would be able to take part in the CFT Cat & Fiddle Challenge.

June review
June turned out to be quite a good month for cycling; especially seeing as it's only my 2nd month after getting the all clear to ride again.
Distance covered: 226.83 miles
Days ridden: 10
Areas covered: High Peak, Oldham, Ashton, edge of Yorkshire.
Middleton CC: yeah, 28/6
Chorlton Wanderers: nope
Hill climbs/repeats: 1 specific, others were as part of hilly routes.
I'm happy with the progress so far: if you think that I managed 137.42 miles in May, I've gained another 89ish miles over the extra few days.
July will bring me back into play in Trio's century rides as it's Manchester to Blackpool on the 12th and that's a minimum of 65 miles for me. Hopefully I'll up the miles too to try and bring it nearer to 300 for the month.

May review
Seeing as I've only been back on the bike since May 10 I don't really expect my stats to be that great for May, so here goes:
Distance covered: 137.42 miles
Days ridden: 6
Hill repeats/climbs: 4 sessions
Middleton CC Club Ride: yeah 31/5
Chorlton Wanderers Ride: nope
The century-a-month challenge I began with Trio in January has fallen by the wayside, purely because at the moment I doubt I can ride that distance without some pain or extreme energy loss.
However, despite that I am happy with the progress for this month. Although I'm not riding up Hartshead Pike every week, I am using the hill Trio recommended almost every time I ride regardless of where my route has taken me.
June should be a better month for me as I'm now getting back into the riding, I now know I can ride up to 50 miles without dying and i have fortnightly appointments I can ride to each time.

March/April review
Seeing as I'm still not riding (consultant still not letting me) it seemed silly to do a review at the end of March and thought I'd combine March's review with that of April. So here goes -
Cycling: 0 miles
Walking:24.56 miles over 4 walks
Rather short and sweet. Hopefully the next review will include some riding time in it.

February review
After January's successes, I thought that February would either be the same or get even better. My plans didn't quite go according to plan (as this will tell you)! So here's the info -
1. Ride every other day. Rode 1 out of 28 days - 2/2. The very day that plans went awry!
3. Complete a metric century ride each month. Erm, nope!
4. Ride Hartshead Pike once a week. Not a chance.
5. Ride the Middleton CC Club ride. My bro rode it, but alas not me.
6. Ride Chorlton Wanderers ride. Nope.
7. Practice hill repeats. Didn't quite get to a hill on my one and only ride this month.
Total February mileage - 15.29

January Review
It's a little bit late, but here's my January review.
My main intention for January was to complete the Asics 300 miles in 30 day challenge. Other than that it was simply to get out on the bike more and improve my riding and hill climbing skills. So, here's the info
1. Complete the Asics 300 miles in 30 day challenge. Completed 29/1.
2. Ride every other day. Rode 13 out of 31 days - just shy of every other day.
3. Complete a metric century ride each month (late entry). Completed 30/1.
4. Ride Hartshead Pike once a week. Erm, not quite. Got there twice.
5. Ride the Middleton CC Club ride. Done on 25/1.
6. Ride Chorlton Wanderers ride. Done on 11/1.
7. Practice hill repeats. Done twice with a little improvement on 2nd session.
Total January mileage - 366.75
Weekly mileage -
1/1 - 07/1 63.48
8/1 - 14/1 100.63
15/1 - 21/1 0
22/1 - 28/1 139.30
29/1 - 31/1 63.34
